Siri Commands

Super-Easy Siri Commands

Using Siri, your iPhone’s voice assistant, has been around for a long time. Do you use her as often as you could? The answer for most of our clients is, “probably not.” Below are four simple yet useful commands you can try to begin to utilize Siri.

How to:

First, activate Siri on your iPhone, Mac, or Apple Watch. Then, ask Siri to:

  1. 👂 Identify a song being played → say, “What’s this song?” while an unfamiliar song is playing anywhere.
  2. 🎲 Toss a coin or roll dice → say, “Toss a coin” or “Roll some dice.” Siri will tell you the outcome right away!
  3. 🎵 Play music or podcasts → say, “Play me something I’ll like” or “Play the most recent podcast from [Podcast Name].” This is super useful when driving, so you can keep your eyes on the road!
  4. 📲 Find your Stuff → say, “Find my iPhone” or “Find my keys” (when an AirTag is assigned to them). The device will magically begin to ping!

Preview of Siri features coming up

Even with all the things Siri can do, as of today there are still some limitations. However, on June 10th, Apple announced how they will be incorporating A.I. into their operating systems, which they are calling “Apple Intelligence.” Starting this Fall, with the release of iOS 18 and Mac OS Sequoia, Siri will be able to do so much more, such as:

  • Add an address sent via text directly to your contacts
  • Get detailed instructions on how to use a feature of your phone
  • Find the personal information you seek, whether it lives in a text, email, note, file, or calendar item.

It’s important to note that many of the Apple Intelligence features coming up will only be available with an iPhone 15 (or newer), or a Mac with an M1 (or newer) chip. This is due to the increased processing power A.I. requires of devices.
