PC: How Do I Make the Cursor Easier to Locate?

You’re working on your PC and want to open a file, but you seem to have lost your cursor.

After a bit of windmilling your mouse and frustration, you finally locate it.

Surely there has to be an easier way to find it, right? Luckily for you, there’s an option you can change in your PC settings and you’ll never lose track of your cursor again!

Follow these steps to make your life easier (no, really, it’s life-changing):

  1. Open Windows Start icon (bottom left of your screen) and
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Click on Devices.
  4. Click on Mouse (left menu in gray area).
  5. Click “Additional mouse options” under Related settings (right menu).
  6. When the box for Mouse Properties appears, click on the tab for “Pointer Options”.
  7. Select the very last checkbox for “Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key”, then click OK.

Now, any time you press the CTRL key, a circle will briefly surround your cursor for you to locate it! See? Life-changing!
