What’s the easiest way to save important emails? (Apple, Gmail)

When important emails come in, do you always have time to deal with them right away? Neither do we. Here’s how we save them for quick retrieval later:

How to save important e-mails

This tip was originally taught on Apple Mail, but you can use it in Gmail too! Just substitute the word “flag” for “star” when you see it:

1. Open an email on Apple Mail.

2. Click on the flag icon on the bar on the upper right of the email (see image).

3. Now, your email should have a red flag appear on it, and it should also appear in your “Flagged” mailbox (look for the column on the left side of your Apple Mail window).

(Note: If you don’t see the column with the different email boxes, on the top menu bar, click on View > Show Mailbox List.)

4. To remove the flag, simply click the flag icon again (on the top bar, upper right side).
