The new iPhone 16.2 Privacy Updates

Apple has released a new update for iPhones and iPads that makes your devices more secure.

Advanced Data Protection adds a layer of end-to-end encryption that makes your data safe from hackers, the government, and everyone in between. You will be the only one able to access your data. (Not even Apple will be able to access your data!)

Step 1: Update your Operating Systems on ALL your Apple devices. (This will only work if all of the devices connected to your iCloud account are updated. See this Apple Support article for more details.

Step 2: Go to Settings. Tap your name at the very top. Then, tap “iCloud.”

Step 3: Make sure that iCloud backup is on. If not, tap it to turn it on.

Step 4: Scroll down on the same iCloud menu and look for Advanced Data Protection. Turn it on and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process.
